EconoCents is an independent personal-finance website based in Texas, owned and operated by Venero Ventures LLC. We publish plain-English guides on debt, credit, investing, and taxes, alongside reviews and comparisons of loan products — and we operate a loan-matching service for readers who decide they want to be connected with lenders.

How we make money

We believe this should be stated plainly: we are paid by lending networks and lenders. When you submit a loan request through our form, we transfer your information to the lending networks you select, and they compensate us for it. We may also earn a commission when you apply for a product through links on our review and comparison pages. That compensation keeps the site free for readers, and it may influence which products appear on the site and where — but it does not determine what our editorial reviews say.

What we are not

We are not a lender, loan broker, or financial adviser. We never make credit decisions, we never charge readers a fee, and our educational content is general information — not advice tailored to your situation.

Our editorial approach

Reviews and guides are researched from publicly available information — lender disclosures, rate sheets, state regulations — and updated periodically. When a product has serious drawbacks (high APRs, debt-cycle risk), we say so: several of our most-read guides are about avoiding high-cost borrowing, and we would rather you read those first.
